How to play and about the game
How to play
- Place your nine stones on empty points, one at a time. Blue moves first.
- Three of your stones on one line make a mill. It captures one opposing stone, unless every opposing stone is in a mill.
- When all stones are placed, slide one to a neighbouring empty point. With three stones you may fly to any empty point.
- You win when the opponent has fewer than three stones or cannot move.
Controls
Click a stone, then a highlighted point. Keyboard: Tab to a point, Enter selects it.

Strategy and tips
Four steps from your first game of Nine Men's Morris to expert play.
- First game
Build toward a mill you can close next turn. Two of your stones with an empty third point are a threat the opponent must answer.
- Getting better
Keep a stone that can open and close a mill. Stepping out and back in captures again, unless the opponent fills the gap.
- Confident
Stones inside a closed mill are safe while it stands. Capture the stone that is about to make the opponent's mill.
- Expert
Watch the flying phase. With three stones you can reach any point, so a double threat is hard to stop.
Common mistake Stacking your stones on one line. Three in a row are easy to block, while spread stones keep several mill options.
