Digital time & file lab
One topic, four connected steps: learn the idea, try real browser tools, produce a note, then solve a fictional case.
Your selected file is processed on your device and stays there. Calculate its fingerprint, inspect its details and use the results in your own note.
01 / Learn
A timestamp needs its time base
Unix time measures seconds or milliseconds since 1970-01-01 00:00:00 UTC. UTC and Türkiye's local time may show different clock values for the same instant. Record the unit and time zone when writing a timeline.
A file name, size and browser-provided modified time are not the same as embedded EXIF. A SHA-256 value represents the bytes read; it does not identify the person who created the file.
02 / Try

Epoch converter
File fingerprint
View the file name, size, browser-reported modified time, hash and first 16 bytes in HEX format.
03 / Produce
Turn a result into a technical note
Bring your time conversion, file inspection and timeline results together in an editable technical note. Review the text and copy it when ready.

The missing USB — fictional timeline
Four fictional records use UTC or Türkiye time. Convert the times and select the records from earliest to latest.
