Task 1 of 6

Trace the capital letter W.

Start at the glowing dot with the number and follow the arrow.

Keys: Enter or Space traces the next stroke; 1–9 pick a tile or picture; arrows move between them.

Four ways to read

  • Trace letters Follow the numbered dots and arrows with a finger or the mouse: capital letters, small letters, then three-letter words. Keyboard players press Enter for each stroke.
  • Build with syllables Hear the name of the picture and tap its syllables in order. Words grow from two syllables to long words and two-word names, with a few extra tiles to skip.
  • Read and match Read a word, a short phrase or a whole sentence and find the picture that fits. Look closely: the pictures differ in place, colour, number or size.
  • Make a sentence Put the word tiles in order to say what the picture shows. At the top level every word is in small letters, and the full stop goes at the end.
