Printable feeling cards

Eight picture cards with Piko and friends, one feeling on each. Print them on A4, cut along the lines and use them to name feelings together. They are free, and nothing is collected.

How to use them

  1. Show one card. Say the feeling's name together and read the line under it.
  2. Ask: “When did you feel like this?” Any answer is fine, and so is no answer.
  3. Mirror game: one of you makes the face on a card, the other guesses the feeling.
  4. All feelings are allowed; some actions are not. We can feel angry, but we do not hit.
  5. If a child often seems very sad, scared or angry for a long time, talk to their teacher or doctor.

The eight cards

Cut along the dashed lines.

  • Fıstık the squirrel smiles, holding a basket of acorns.

    Happy

When I feel happy, I smile and want to share.

  • Ritim the octopus looks sad, holding a broken drum.

    Sad

When I feel sad, I may cry and want a hug.

  • Tosbi frowns with crossed arms under a little storm cloud.

    Angry

When I feel angry, my face gets hot. I stop and breathe.

  • Hece the owl holds a book and looks a little scared.

    Scared

When I feel scared, my heart beats fast. I go to a grown-up.

  • Hedgie opens a gift box with wide eyes.

    Surprised

When I feel surprised, my eyes and mouth open wide.

  • Hedgie hides a little behind a scarf.

    Shy

When I feel shy, I want to hide a little. I can wave first.

  • Fıstık stands tall beside a finished puzzle.

    Proud

When I feel proud, I want to show what I did.

  • Piko with closed eyes, calm again.

    Calm

When I feel calm, my body is soft and my breath is slow.

Before you print

  • In the print dialog choose A4, portrait and 100% scale. Turn off “Headers and footers”. The eight cards are one page.
  • Print in colour on thin card if you can; the cards last longer. Then cut along the dashed lines.
