- Prediction
Tap an empty square to place a mirror. Turn it until the light reaches the target.
The light travels to the right. Turn the mirror so the reflected light goes up to the target.
How light bounces
- Place. Tap an empty square. A mirror appears there at 45°.
- Turn. Use the slider. The dashed line is the normal, at right angles to the mirror.
- Check. Compare the incoming and reflected angles. They are always equal.
The rule: the angle the light arrives at equals the angle it leaves at. Both angles are measured from the normal.
